A National Magazine Award winner, he has written for The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, and magazines including Azure, Metropolis, Architectural Record, Departures, Toronto Life, Report on Business, The Walrus, Spacing and the Literary Review of Canada. He contributed to the book Concrete Toronto (2007).

He was educated at the University of Toronto and the City University of New York.
